| Hey guys...
Long time no update...
So I got some more short runners for the VH45 to make it easier to fabricate plenums for the engine. Now the runners will be linear to make manifold design easier.

Also scored an almost new water pump for like $4. |

From the same map above... I *think* that this is right. Just a rough sketch. According to this I should get to neutral pressure by 2500 RPMs. 5psi by 3000, 15PSI by 4000(could go to about 18PSI here but didn't sketch it that way), 20PSI by 5000.
Each of the vertical green lines is 5 LB/min of air...
The engine maxxes out at 102.5Lb/min at 6900 RPMS and 20PSI?? I'll go back through my math...
That is the amount of air going into the engine when it is compressed at the calculated PSI. |

| Here is a compressor map for the best Holset HX40. They are not all the same as some HX40's only get to 70% efficient. This one gets to almost 80%.
I believe that I am going to use this turbo on my VH45DE project. This turbocharger looks to be an almost perfect match for a VH45. It could end up being a tad small for my goals. If that is the case I may step up to a HX50W or HX55W with the VGT technology. When I have some extra time I will plot the VH45 engine map on top of this one. I'm looking for the turbo to spool around 3000-3300 RPMs as the redline will be above 7000.
IIRC a 3 liter at 7000 puts out enough air to get to the middle of the efficency zone. With the VH45 I should be just passing through it when at max safe RPMs. We will see once the VH map is plotted.

The engine may get a 1mm-2mm overbore if the bores are not in perfect condition.

| Picked up a VH45DE engine the other day for a great price. Unfortunately the day I pulled it was a record heat day in Atlanta. Supposedly it was the hottest day in like 70 years here. lol
The VH45DE is like a big secret by Nissan. It is a great engine.
DOHC All aluminum construction 6 bolt mains with 2 horizontal Stock it revs to 6900 and supposedly with cylinder head work it will spin to 8500 with balanced stock internals. 4.5 liters of displacement making 278 under-rated horsepower. Intake runners are just about PERFECT Exhaust runners are good too. Similar to a 4.6 Ford.
Plans are to mate it to a 1990-1996 300zx 5 speed transmission.
I'm also looking at using an HX40 or HX50 turbo for this motor after I lower compression to about 9:1.

Most of my L6 stuff should be for sale soon...
